In Tribute To: Michael Jackson

Sadly as everyone is hearing now or they heard the news last night (as it's early morning here) of Michael Jackson's sad passing, it really showcased exactly how many fans this artist truly has. Michael Jackson, who was only 50 years old, led a very turbulent life in full view of the world, to many critical comments on his personal life. But it was his music that made him who he was and hopefully that will outshine anything bad that has previously been written about him in the media, etc.

Now is the time to pay respect to one of music's greatest talents, a talent who has to have influenced someone at any given point in their life, a talent whose music has at some point played a major role in many individuals lives while growing up. Michael Jackson will be forever remember for the legend and star that he is, also an accomplished actor who showed his potential in the amazing movie, 'The Wiz'. A film you just have to see at some point.

On hearing this awful news (it is still pretty hard to comprehend that Michael has gone), a lot of his fans are still in shock and religiously playing his music along with numerous radio stations around the world. Michael's legacy in music and all that he has done will forever be remembered with great fondness. The King of Pop will forever live on through his music and his many fans.

Sexy Never Left sends our condolences and best wishes to the Jackson family, their many friends and the millions of fans of Michael Jackson out there.

To pay tribute to a legend within music, here are a few of Michael's videos from over the years.

Promising Future: Melanie Fiona

As previously mentioned, Melanie Fiona is a singer/songwriter to keep your eyes on. The release of her debut album is due out here in the UK next month and will apparently be released in August within the USA. From everything that has been heard so far, this is definitely an album to check out. Melanie has the potential to be a huge star within music.

Anyway, I shall let her new remix video do the talking, followed by two freestyles she took part in which showcase her talent also.

Melanie Fiona – Give It To Me Right (Paul Emmanuel Remix)

Melanie Fiona – Unplugged In The Staircase (‘Give It To Me Right’) (Volume 1)

Spotlight: Ginuwine

For those of you who do not know, Ginuwine’s new album is due to hit stores next week and it should be a great release going on what’s been heard so far. I’ve been a fan of Ginuwine’s for many years now and although it could never be anything like his releases back in the day (he collaborated with the old Timbaland and as most of us know, Timbaland’s style has changed a lot over the years since Aaliyah tragically passed away). It is definitely a step in the right direction for Ginuwine though and should hopefully put him back on the musical map again, especially after a few wrote him off saying that he has passed it. He has no way near passed it.

Anyway, I shall let Ginuwine talk of his new project due out next week.

Ginuwine – AllThat’sFab Interview (Part One)

Talented: Amerie

Amerie is a very talented individual, her best album to date has definitely been her debut released a few years back and no doubt her upcoming project, ‘In Love & War’, will be just as good. It will be great to hear something new from Amerie, hopefully this time around she’ll receive a lot more love and promotion with her project. Her album, ‘In Love & War’, which is due out around August will definitely be worth checking out.

I won’t write too much, I shall let Amerie herself talk of her album and issues she’s faced within music in the following video.

Missing Out: Melinda Doolittle

If you don’t have Melinda Doolittle’s debut album, which was out at the beginning of the year, then boy are you missing out on a great album. Melinda, who showcased her potential consistently on American Idol a couple or so years back, certainly proved that again talent can come from a reality television series, inking her name up there with the best of the rest of them. This lady certainly deserves a lot more love within the industry and if there’s one album I’d recommend you checking out this year, 'Coming Back To You' would be it. Melinda Doolittle is a name that should be on every music fans lips.

Here’s a song from her debut to give you a little insight of what to expect, you can also find out more on Melinda and her music by clicking here.

Melinda Doolittle – Declaration Of Love

Future Star: Paloma Faith

With her debut album out already, I have been intrigued with this artist since seeing the commercial advertising her latest project. Intrigued mainly because of her name, it’s such a great name and that alone can draw you into finding out more from an artist. It seems that she is very much a very talented individual, a creative one at that.

Here is a very creative video of hers, which I think is just incredible. It definitely gives you an insight in what to expect from this promising talent.

Paloma Faith – In All The World I Dream In Paper

Future Star: Bluey Robinson

Bluey Robinson is a singer/songwriter from here in the UK, London to be exact. He is an artist who has been doing music for as far back as he can remember. So he is certainly one very talented guy. Currently working on his fanbase; Bluey is definitely making a name for himself on the internet and a dedicated following has already been established for this very talented individual who obviously has music pulsing through his veins.

Bluey Robinson is an artist who certainly has what it takes to be a huge star, not letting the fact that he is still unsigned hold him back.

As previously mentioned, he is also a member of F*Street, a collective from London. They are also ones to keep your eyes on.

Here are a couple of video’s that should give you a little more insight into this very promising talent, starting with a spoof video that he did for one of his songs.

Bluey Robinson – Give Me A Sign (Spoof)

Bluey Robinson – I Know (Acoustic)

Great Song: Linkin Park

Linkin Park have always been a group that have stood out for me, there’s just something about them that’s likeable. Chester, the lead singer, has such an amazing voice. Anyway, they have a new song that is featured on the new Transformers movie; it’s actually a pretty good song. It suits the soundtrack to the movie, you definitely need a song like this for an action type movie.

Here is their new music video.

Linkin Park – New Divide

Ones To Watch: F*Street

F*Street are a collective you need to keep your eyes on within music. If you’re not familiar with this group, then you can click here for more information on them, as well as music. Singer/songwriter Bluey Robinson is also a member of this group; he alone is someone to keep your eyes on.

Here is one of their music videos to give you a little more insight into them.

F*Street – Hypnotized

Eagerly Awaiting: Alexandra Burke

As most people should already know by now, Alexandra Burke won the last X Factor over here and created so much excitement. A similar kind of excitement to what people got when Leona Lewis won the show two years previously. Alexandra, who was reported to have inked an American deal worth around £3million is currently working on her long awaited debut album. It is said that while in the USA adding touches to her album she worked alongside the likes of Timbaland, Jay-Z, amongst others. But we shall see when the finished result hits the stores, one things for sure, it will definitely be a project worth checking out.

Alexandra recently posted a message on her official website talking of her debut as well as her time overseas, here is what she said:

“LA, San Francisco and NY were all great and I can't wait to go back there! Next time I want to try and go to a theme park though lol. I haven't been to one in ages and I hear the ones out there are the best.”

"I can't wait for this album to be finished so you can all hear the songs. I'm having an amazing time creating it. This is a real dream!"

If you are wanting information on Alexandra or news on the progression of her debut album (which is said to be due out later in the year), you can find out more by visiting her official website or her Twitter page.

Future Star: Brown Hill

As many music fans know already, every once in a while an artist comes along within music who has real potential to move onto bigger and better things, it seems that this is the case with this artist. Brown Hill is a singer/songwriter who has what it takes to rival some of the more well known artists within the genre, not a lot is known about this artist, but you can tell from his music he is certainly someone to keep your eyes on. His album is called ‘Soul Renaissance’ and should definitely be worth checking out, if you haven’t already. You can hear more music by clicking here.

Here is one of his songs to give you a little insight into this talent.

Brown Hill – Change

Premiere: Amerie

Amerie has been doing her thing within music for a number of years now, having moved to a completely different label she is all set to release her long awaited fourth studio album, which is due out at some point this year and is said to be titled, ‘In Love & War’. It will be an album worth checking out.

The video premiere of the new music video took place last night, so here it is.

Amerie – Why R U

Amerie – Interview (106 & Park)

8 Jun 2009

Star: Amerie

Amerie is a talent within music who has been shining for quite some time now, still she receives pretty limited success and her last album hardly received any love outside of Europe, even though it was a great release. It finally got a release in the USA, but that must have been over a year after it was released over here in the UK, etc. So no doubt a lot of people would have downloaded it, instead of just purchasing the album. Which was a shame, as the album could have done a lot better. Especially if the label she was signed to then supported and promoted the material.

Since then, Amerie has moved to a different label and is gearing up for the release of her eagerly awaited fourth album, which is said to be titled ‘In Love & War’ and should be a great album. Hopefully with this release she will receive more love, she is definitely a very talented artist and deserves so much success within the industry. She is also said to be premiering her new music video tonight in the USA, so that should be worth checking out if you’re a fan of hers over there.

In the meantime, here is a song of hers that has surfaced.

Amerie – Dear John

A Time To Finally Shine: MPHO

Now this is an artist who I have known of for quite some time, she used to go under the name Mpho Skeef and was featured on a Baby J album, alongside doing her own thing within music. She’s definitely a talent worth looking out for within music.

Anyway, it seems a music video has surfaced for this very talented artist. She definitely has what it takes to become a huge star, if you recognise the song, she’s sampled a Blondie classic.

MPHO – Box N Locks

Talented: Mint Royale

Mint Royale for those who do not know have been going within music for quite some time. They are from Manchester and were founded by Chris Baker and Neil Claxton, Chris left and Neil continued to produce music using the Mint Royale name. They are probably most well known for their hit, ‘Singin’ In The Rain’, which was a remake of a classic and was featured the first time in an advert for Volkswagen Golf. Since then, the song achieved bigger success after George Sampson (winner of 2008’s Britain’s Got Talent) used it in one of his routines.

Here’s a video of theirs, the video has FOLA (an artist I have mentioned previously) in it. Check it out.

Mint Royale – The Effect On Me

Powerful Message: Canton Jones

Canton Jones is an American Christian artist and a very talented one he is too, singing by the age of five years old in a vocal group founded by his father and by the age of only sixteen, Canton was writing and producing for many people in his hometown. In the year 2001 he released his first album independently and he is said to be releasing a fifth album very soon, which will be his first release since 2005’s incredible, ‘Kingdom Business’. This is definitely one artist you should check out, if you haven’t already.

In a world where attention seems to be focused upon people fighting, especially here in the UK, if you haven’t heard about how some things go down over here with gangs and knives, it’s great to have a song out there that delivers a powerful message that violence, anger and retaliating to things doesn’t solve anything. I should just point out though that not all teenagers are involved with violence, it’s a minority that give the rest a bad name. So I shall let the following video do the talking, this artist delivers a very powerful message.

Canton Jones – Stay Saved

Future Star: FOLA

After being reminded last night of a certain song by this lady that I have had in my collection for quite some time, I figured it’s probably best to introduce you guys to an incredible talent who everyone should know of.

For those who do not know who this very talented artist is, then here is a little bit of information on someone you should definitely watch out for. FOLA is a British singer/songwriter, a MOBO award winning one - who sings about the power of women through her music, having grown without a father figure in her life her music definitely comes across as someone who has been motivated through experiencing lifes ups and downs.

Here is a song of hers to give you a little insight into this incredible talent.

FOLA – Phenomenal Woman

Finally: Whitney Houston

After a while of new circulating that Whitney Houston is to release something new very soon, we finally get a supposed date, September. That is when the supposed new album from the Queen of music will be released and wow, will it be something to look forward to. Whitney is well known for delivering the goods in music and it has been a very long time since she released an album, so this should be amazing. No doubt people will be flocking in their drones to check it out; it really will be something special and well worth the wait to all of those Whitney fans out there. This should be something worth checking out when it is released.

In the meantime, here is a little gem from Whitney’s extensive discography to prepare you for her return to music.

Whitney Houston – Run To You

After A Long Wait: Daniel Merriweather

After what feels like absolutely ages waiting for an album (his last one was scrapped) to be released from this guy, we finally receive an album and boy, it is fantastic. This guy could sing his way through a phonebook and it’d still sound just as soulful. With a great album under his belt, you’d be forgiven for asking what else this guy could do to draw you in and usually, there’d be quite a while to find out, but it seems Daniel Merriweather has tossed out the fishing line and reeled us all back in with what can only be described as, a fantastic rendition of a La Roux song. Daniel turns this song into something very special indeed. So, I shall let his version (which he did for Radio 1 Live Lounge) do the talking.

Daniel Merriweather – In For The Kill (Radio 1 Live Lounge)

Underrated: Omar

Thanks to Soul Bounce for the heads up on this video, it is truly amazing. As stated in my reply to their post on this truly underrated British talent here, he could literally sing a phonebook and it’d still sound amazingly soulful. Anyway in the following video, Omar is attempting a cover of the classic Roy Ayers song ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’ and an amazing job he did too. This guy is right up there with many other underrated British talents within music, it’s great that he’s still doing his thing and taking his sound to other places across the globe.

Here is the very performance that was being talked of above. If you wish to see more performances from this incredible artist, then you can do so by clicking here.

Omar – Everybody Loves The Sunshine (Live)

Incredible Talent: Glenn Lewis

Glenn Lewis is a Canadian singer/songwriter and a very talented one he is too, citing the likes of Stevie Wonder as his biggest inspiration. Glenn has often been compared to Stevie Wonder due to the similarities in their voices, but as flattering as they are for the artist, comparisons are not needed. Glenn is very much an artist in his own right and with the incredible ‘World Outside My Window’ which was released a few years back, he has already established his name on the music scene. He still remains a very underrated artist. But with an amazing album under his belt that placed his name on a lot of peoples lips, this is certainly one talent to watch out for in future.

Here is one of his videos, which should give those who do not know of this talent a little insight into him and his music.

Glenn Lewis – Don’t You Forget It

Humour Factor: Brian Littrell

I’ve been a fan of the Backstreet Boys for numerous years and the member Brian Littrell just happens to be my favourite, with his sense of humour; his voice; his honesty. This guy can do nothing wrong for me. So for those who haven’t yet already checked out his Christian music, you’re certainly missing out. For those who don't know, a new album from the guys is coming this year, their last album was nearly two years ago.

Here is a recent interview that he recently gave on Youtube, the end is hilarious.

Brian Littrell – Interview BSB Week 2

Britain’s Got Talent: Susan Boyle Is A Star

So Britain’s Got Talent came to an end on Saturday night over here, with dance act Diversity being crowned as the winners of series three. Quite a few acts stood out within this years competition and Diversity were definitely one of them (as previously posted). I wish them the best of luck.

Even though I did want Susan Boyle to win the series, I think the better act won on the night, as the pressure seems to have really taken it’s toll on poor Susan and I get the feeling that she was pleased not to win, due to the pressure she experienced within the week leading up to the final show. She comes across as a very lovely person, but the media seemed to have been pulling her to bits over the past week, which was definitely very unfair. Susan has a very bright future ahead of her, I hope that the media lay off criticising her the way they have and let her do what she does best. She certainly looked tired and worn down by all of the pressure during the final. Sexy Never Left wishes her all the best for the future, she’s a star already.

Here is Susan’s incredible performance from Saturday’s final.

Susan Boyle – I Dreamed A Dream (Britain’s Got Talent Final)
