As most people will already know, today here in the UK is a very important day – as is September 11th in the USA. Back on July 7th 2005 terrorists ripped through London with a series of attacks on innocent people. A lot of people were very left injured and suffered physical scars, alongside obvious mental scars. But 52 people sadly weren’t so lucky to survive the attacks, still to this very day their memories remain. Today in the UK a special memorial service took place in Hyde Park in London, where a lasting tribute to the victims was unveiled. Prince Charles was there to pay tribute to those who were taken on that day, as well many other people - most importantly the families of people affected on this day four years ago were there to pay tribute and honour those who tragically didn't survive.
The memorial consists of 52 steel pillars all engraved with the date of the attacks, the time it took place and the location in London where the attack took place. Each steel pillar symbolises one of the victims taken upon that day four years ago, as well as a plaque with the names of each victim upon it.
Most people remember where they were when events unfolded back then and to this very day, it is still very hard to imagine that people could actually cause such devastation.
This post pays tribute to everyone who was affected on this very day four years ago, as well the families of those who were tragically lost.
