Best Kept Secret: Carol Riddick

Carol Riddick is widely considered as one of Soul music’s best kept secrets, born and raised in Philadelphia, music has always played a big part in Carol’s life and it shows. She is an amazingly soulful artist, it remains a mystery why she isn’t as widely known as many other performers within the industry. Still it’s refreshing to find a talent that has exactly what music needs, a fresh sound. This should come as no surprise seeing some of the artists this lady has working with, including Jill Scott; Anthony Hamilton; Musiq Soulchild; amongst many others. She provided her soulful vocals to Musiq Soulchild’s song, ‘Soulstar’.

She has since moved onto release her very own album, which is definitely worth checking out. It was an album that was virtually overlooked, which comes as a surprise considering how amazing gifted this artist is. She has so much to offer music.

Here is one of the songs taken from her album, which should give you a little more insight into this incredible talent.

Carol Riddick is simply amazing! i stumbled on her back in 2001 as a background singer for Jill Scott along with Vivian Green. Given her short stature, Carol's voice could blow many of her colleagues out of the water with little effort! Her live performances are simply amazing and she is so personable which makes her even more relatable!! "Moments Like This" was the pefect collision of Anita Baker infused with the current Philly sound, yet still unique and distinctive! Carol's voice is so sexy and I hope the world will get a chance to listen to her! The album is available on i-Tunes!
